T.H.E. House was the result of organizing efforts by local
churches, Coos Bay's downtown business owners and other
community leaders. T.H.E. House provides short-term shelter
and meals to those in need.
T.H.E. House meals being served to the homeless population has increased
dramatically over the past several years. T.H.E. House served 23,000
meals in 2003, compared to nearly 30,000 meals this fiscal year (2006).
MISSION STATEMENT: T.H.E. House shelters and provides services to homeless
men and women in order to meet their immediate needs.
FUNDING: T.H.E. House is funded by several different sources, including
(but not limited to); United Way, Coos County Mental Health Department, Coos County
Corrections Department, City of Coos Bay and North Bend, individual contributions,
small grants and several local churches
DONATIONS: T.H.E. House is a non-profit 501(3)c organization
